Force Field is a world-wide recognized producer of surf craft for lifesaving and surf sports.Director and former world class surf lifesaver, Dwayne Thuys, has graciously donated surf craft to the Nova Scotia Lifeguard Service to support the development of lifesaving sport in Nova Scotia and in Canada. Former NSLS lifeguard and current captain of the Canadian National Lifesaving Team, Jason Cross, is one of Force Field's sponsored athletes.
As part of the Connected for Safety campaign, Telus provides cellular telephones and airtime packages to the Nova Scotia Lifeguard Service along with support for purchase of lifesaving equipment. Cellular phones on beaches have proven to be a positive addition to the Nova Scotia Lifeguard Service in emergency situations. Through Telus's generous donation, responding lifeguards are now able to contact 9-1-1 directly from the beach, and communicate with emergency services personnel while responding to an incident.
Hawaiian Tropic is an international sun care brand which uses natural ingredients in their products. This year Hawaiian Tropic is donating approximately 150 bottles of sunscreen to the NSLS guards to ensure their skin safety. This is extremely vital as NSLS lifeguards spend countless hours in the sun.
